A journey of self-discovery kindled my curiosity, guiding me towards a life of wellness.

In 2007, I was new to the gym and felt a bit overwhelmed by the unfamiliar environment. The weight room was primarily men, and I wasn't sure where to start. I tried to mimic what I'd seen online, but it was a steep learning curve. To feel more comfortable, I began with running on the treadmill and doing some basic ab exercises.

However, this routine became a negative spiral. I developed a binge eating disorder and found myself crying during workouts. The pressure to look a certain way was overwhelming, and I felt isolated in my struggle.

A turning point came when I observed a group fitness class in 2012. The instructor noticed my interest and took the time to show me some exercises. I joined the class and discovered a newfound love for high-intensity interval training. The short bursts of intense effort were challenging but rewarding. I learned a variety of exercises, such as burpees and bear crawls. I also progressed significantly in foundational exercises like deadlifts and squats.

Over time, I not only saw physical changes but also experienced a positive shift in my mental health. My eating disorder symptoms improved significantly, and I regained a sense of control over my life. While recovery is an ongoing process, my journey has been transformative.

I believe it's important to share my story. By being open and honest about my experiences, I hope to inspire others who may be facing similar challenges so we can pursue wellness together.
